Dark like sorghum, reddish to it. Head was thick and brownish. Nose is sweet and hints of coriander. Taste sweet like a burnt caramel and then a good amount of bitterness on back. Then the warmth hits.

Belgian-style quad Bourbon-barrel-aged on cherries. Poured from a bottle into a Listermann's Fermatorium glass. The pour is very dark red, but clear. Not much head for a quad, but the nose is very typical. It's bready and rich with notes of toffee, cocoa, and dark fruit.
Full body with a rich, fruity flavor. Lots of toasted malt and toffee up front. At mid-palate, some grapes, cherries, plums, and vanilla creep in along with a hint of bourbon. Finishes with lingering notes of cherries, cocoa and bourbon. Easily the second best barrel-aged quad I have had (behind "Rummin With the Devil" from Mash Cult). It tastes like a top-notch quad without being overwhelmed by barrel notes. Rather, the barrel is subtle and enhances all the other flavors. I might pick up another bottle of this.

From the growler via the brewery in a snifter. This
rather nice quad pours a light mahogany with a
light head of white foam that settles to a thin ring
and shows some nice subtle lacing and nice legs (!).
Nose of dark cherry, plums, raisin, dark brown sugars,
and strong notes of booze with brown sugars. Flavors
surpass the nose with brown sugars and candied plum
notes over candy sugar dusted cherries. Warming booze
and plum notes show and then fade behind strong booze
notes akin to brandy. Very nice mouth feel; medium body,
warm, smooth, subtle carbonation, and a moderately dry
finish.
Overall, a SOLID brew from a brewery that impresses more
more with each brew. A good one to watch and a great one
to check out. Also available in bourbon barreled bottles
on I think cherries....not sure...we bought the tripel under
the brewers suggestion.
Cheers
