From the 22oz bottle in a snifter via the bottle from the brewery.
This unique brew pours a muddled peach flesh tinged burnt
auburn color with a light head of white dissipating foam that
subsides to a thin ring with subtle lacing. Nose of peaches,
astringent booze, sweet floral honey, and a nice white grape
note note. Flavors knock it out of the park with mild peach
and astringent bourbon with a hint of oak and candy sugar
with a more dominant white wine/grape note with mild
honey with a dash of floral hops. Nice mouth feel; medium
body, smooth, very warming, low carbonation, and a moderately
to moderately high dry finish that is lightly tart and inviting.
Unique and interesting, it is the equal of the sum of it's
parts with locally sourced honey and golden raisins which
tasted more like straight grapes with heavy emphasis on
the dry outer skin. The barrel is almost an afterthought
with touches that come off more astringent that bourbon.
Also improves vastly with warmth. Give this one a try...an
interesting treat to be certain.
Cheers
