Nitro double milk stout enjoyed on tap at the brewery. The pour is quite dark and almost completely opaque. It sports a wonderful cascading crown of fine creamy foam. The nose is quite roasty with strong notes of baker's chocolate, roasted malt, and a hint of vanilla.
Medium-full body with a creamy feel and a roasty flavor. Lots of heavily roasted malt, cappuccino, and hints of toffee and vanilla. Somehow manages to maintain balance despite all the roast - the nitro helps add creaminess and is a wonderful way to serve this beer. Finishes with flavors of rich coffee and cocoa lingering on the palate.
I've had this beer three times now and I now think it's the best beer I've had this year. It's not over-the-top or full of off-the-wall flavors that rip the hair off the back of your head. It's just a well-crafted downright delicious milk stout that is very easy to enjoy. Not too sweet, not too roasty, but well-balanced and hits all the right notes. I hope the brewer keeps bringing this one back. I'd hate for it to be a mere one-off.
