Poured from a bomber purchased at the brewery into two goblets.
Look: Very dark brown, with a 3/4 inch tan head that lingered nicely, leaving abundant very finely bubbled lacing.
Nose: Chocolate along with Mexican spices.
Mouthfeel: Thick and smooth, appropriate carbonation.
Attack: Follows the nose, but actually a bit disappointing at first, compared to the regular Saturn Ascends. The whole flavor intensified as the beer warmed, and I began to more appreciate its Mexican-spices character as different from the regular Saturn Ascends.
Finish: Bitterness to balance — mostly the dark roast.
Overall: While — as I stated — I grew to appreciate what they’re trying to do with the “Mexican Hot Chocolate” spin, I greatly prefer the regular Saturn Ascends, which by itself is an excellent barrel-aged RIS.

22oz Bottle from the brewery
Pours a murky bark brown color with a thin brown head.
Very spicy with big notes of dark chocolate.
This one was kinda rough for me because it was so spicy.
