This beer was a Brew with the Brewer beer won by Brett Ruschman and Sarah Reitman. When we brewed their salted caramel golden stout, we put one third of it in a New Riff barrel. It aged for over a year.

Poured from a beautifully-wax-sealed 750 ml bomber purchased at the brewery, into two stout glasses.
Look: Cloudy apple cider, no head, a slight foam ring, and very light lacing.
Nose: Very slight ripe apricot, and a hint of clover.
Taste: Add lightly salted caramel to the nose, and you’ve got the attack. The bourbon comes through just before the slightly dry finish. This really tastes good!
Mouthfeel: Medium thick, coating the tongue. Adequate carbonation.
Overall: The bottle looked beautiful, then the pour and the nose left me wondering, but the flavor made this a wonderful beer! Really enjoying it, and it’s pairing quite nicely with the bagel chips and St. Andre cheese, both from Cincinnati Findlay Market’s Gibb’s Cheese. Next time I’m at Alexandria Brewing, if they still have this, I’ll be buying another bomber of this!
