Brewed to honor Steve Skoda, who perished along with Christian Koch and Danny Prial in a helicopter accident while on duty in Western NY. Four beers were brewed by Brindle Hous, Heroes, Rising Storm, and Triphammer.

Steve Skoda joined the Army in 1985 and served with honors. Steve loved the outdoors (Adirondacks), classic cars, and his family. "With a kind and generous spirit, Steve lead with his heart and always made time to listen and connect with everyone he met. He was a leader and respected mentor to thousands, and his fellow soldiers will carry on his legacy. God speed. Rest in peace Steve."

Pours clear and gold (SRM 5). The thin, white head quickly settles to a veil. Tiny bubbles meander in a single column within a pilsner glass.

The aroma opens with sweet, clean malt. Faint, spicy hops quickly follow and hold throughout. This is a simple and really nice beer.

The flavor is crisp with equal parts sweet and bitter. Grains dominate, while bitterness builds from the middle and into an eternal finish. Grains and hop flavors are precisely as expected from the aroma.

A medium body with the coarse, hard texture of canvas. There is a light astringency against alcohol as expected. Carbonation is soft and prickly.

This is another easy drinking beer that would pair well with watching or after playing baseball. It is a well-done memorial to Steve Skoda.
