I can't find any mention of Amon Ra, but I assume this is the right beer ; ) Unpasteurized...great. Looks pretty good, lots of very small uniform bubbles...aroma has some interesting slightly West Coast IPA notes...peach and passion fruit seem to dominate.
Very effervescent feel, and quite thin. Mouth feel is very minimal, and not much coming through in terms of after taste.
Taste is ok, just very empty on the mouth feel. It's almost like a watered down West Coast IPA. But too watered down. Maybe their IPA is good, I will give it a go. As a pilsner, it's kind of fruity, without the usual bitter pilsner aftertaste kick.
I will let it cool down a bit...maybe it will improve. It does. But for me, it's too fruity, a bit sweet and lacks bitterness. A German pilsner like Radeberger or Krombacher, has a bitter hops pilsner punch that this lacks.
Not a beer that I would buy again, but I will try the IPA for sure.
