a tasty and tart little sour ale here done with cranberry and peach, built a lot like a berliner to me, with a wheaty base, some minerals from the water showing through, and a clean and piquant lacto sour profile that helps the beer drink dry and quick, even with some flavorful fruit in this one. the cranberry is an obvious choice as the tang resonates with the bacterial sourness in this, and the light flavor allows the grain to still be tasted and appreciated. the combination with peach sounds weirder to me on paper than it is in the beer, just a bit of fuzzy juicy peach sweetness to balance the sourness of the cranberry and the lacto, not overdone at all, not too much of it, a nice layer though that i now realize would be missing if it werent here, its an integral part of the success of this beer as a whole. a little bit of lemon and orange character here too, a light sharpness to the yeast, some bitter from the cranberry, and nice body from the wheat. more complex than a lot of these kettle sours ever are, and there is some neat interplay among the different elements, more than anticipated for sure. there is a nice almost soda-like fizziness to this too, even though it doesnt hold much head. the fruit is natural in the taste, and overall this was pretty good, super springy for fruits i generally associate with late summer and winter respectively, but it works.
