these guys have sort of quietly made pretty good fruited sours from the very beginning. this latest one features tangerine and pomegranate, although neither my wife or i would really be able to tall that, maybe a little generic citrus leading with orange, but to both of us it smells and tastes more tart than either fruit, and has a decided passion fruity twang about it, tropical and pleasant, sweet for just a second in both aroma and flavor, and overall seems like more than just lacto contributing to the pucker, like the fruit element itself must also add to that. orange tinted and a little hazy, almost no head at all from the tap either, but it smells appealing. zested citrus, a hint of pineapple, maybe cranberry, and more passion fruit, way more than just tangerine and pomegranate to us, which we would actually like to taste more of. fortunately, the beer is tasty even without that part really working, its light in body and on the grain side, its clean on the ferment and not too sour to drink a pint of, still short on bubbles, but this is pretty solid overall. i like it because it isnt samey, its unique, even if the fruit gets a little mixed up in translation, and it was a fine companion to our sushi dinner.
