this one is about as simple as it gets in this style, low key, low alcohol, cleanish, i feel like they have done another cherry sour like this in the past, but cool to update things and get better, and maybe i misremember it, it had been awhile honestly before our most recent and most awesome visit, these guys have come a long way. this one is deep brick sort of red with a light pink glow to it, a short fizzy head from the tap, and nice color saturation, mellow looking. it doesnt smell real sour and the cherry seems natural enough, slightly sweet up front, a little medicinal later, and with almost nothing from malt or hops, lemony on the lactic souring side, but not real sharp, a faint cheesy thing but this is not dirty or sloppy to me, just fast. the flavor is the same, lots and lots of fruit on this, tart cherry juice, pretty authentic, and the fruit does seem to add to the pucker in its own right. citrus from the pucker, a little body to this for the grain flavor being so minimal, wheat likely, and a sharp finish with good carbonation. flavorful and juicy, perhaps a little one dimensional, but i dont need more from this style, most of the time i want less, and this delivers in that well enough refined minimalist respect. not too sour to be a drinker either which i like. good execution of a relatively basic concept...
