Tasty, not bitter for its type , and very smooth for an IPA type beer, definately designed to be paired with food, for its alcohol content very easy to drink.

Draft at the Handlebar. Clear golden pour, silky white head. Dry, dusty aroma, biscuity. Taste is malty, fruity, weak and bone dry. Looks great and goes down hill from there.

the call this a hazy pale not a hazy ipa, but this is so hopped up the line is blurred and this more rightly fits in this category than it does in american pale to me, not even close. i feel like these guys have been making better and better hoppy beers of late, but this one is a bit of a step back to the overdosed green biting overly intense type, it presents as forced and messy, and even though we got a great price on a pitcher, i didnt want to drink that much of this, its sloppy and filling. the color is murky faded orange and it has a short white cream head on it from the tap, incredibly dense, man. the hop profile is good, lots and lots of mosaic without it being catty, some grassiness which is cool in here, some bitterness too which i like in a hazy, and there are some neat fruit wrinkles from preserved lemon to sliced pineapple, but the vegetal character is overwhelming, and this stays on my palate forever, not in a flattering way. it feels almost greasy from all the hop oils, and there is nothing restrained or balanced enough about this for it to be in the pale ale range. a shame they couldnt have cleaned this up some, its a neat combination of citra and mosaic which isnt generic, but the beer is heavy and even a pint is a lot. somewhat yeasty too, and even though its on the dry side, its with me way too long. overall i think these guys have evolved to a higher level than this, so i was disappointed with the quality on this one...
