new hop bred in idaho, and i know it to be good, so why is this beer so average? they really missed the mark with this one, and while i am thankful to have lost grove churning out some more new beers lately, this really was a letdown, a terrible showcase of a cool new hop, and one of the least impressive wet hop beers in recent memory. almost more a pale than an ipa based on hop dosage, but thats not the problem here, the issue is that its not hoppy at all, this could almost pass as blonde ale, like there really isnt any hop character to it, beyond that, it seems stale for a fresh hop beer, has a dirty dishwater stink to it at the end, is metallic, has a stressed yeast aspect, and just totally misses the mark, how could they miss this so badly? flat golden look with a head that settles near instantly and a low shine to it. the nose and taste both have some vegetal character but very little of the exciting cotton candy and summery fruity notes i have picked up in other beers using this hop, its muted and dull, i get a green olive thing, pencil lead, pennies, cider, and dried floral elements, maybe green tea. its unappealing, poorly made, and doesnt present like a wet hop beer at all. these guys have been on a bit of a roll lately, but this is utterly forgettable, entirely underwhelming.
