i wish i knew what hops were in this, not just that they are salmon safe, but a cool project, lost grove seems to pretty much always be doing something ecological and cool, good for them, its part of the appeal of the brand overall for me, and hey have stayed consistent in that regard for a long time now, bravo for the efforts. i do wish this beer was a little better, i kind of wish that about all their stuff lately, this should be more exciting in the glass than it is, seems big for no reason, not all that interesting or defined on the hop side, and ends up sipping kind of slow, even for a double. real light orange color, near clear, nice sparkle and lasting white head, a touch malty in appearance, but pretty well polished overall. the nose and taste hit with floral honey and orange zest and pith to me, some oily pine character, lemon cleaner, and some toasted character to the grain, a little sweetness, spruce and gin later, even sage and an herbal wash midway, some bitterness but this seems almost without finish, peach and maybe passion fruit as it warms, definitely resinous and substantial, but also kind of muted to me, even monotone in places, and even though it seems well made it doesnt feel like a great showcase of whatever these hops are, not quite northwestern overall really, and with some alcohol stinging once it warms, body and sweetness, solid but not interesting, another one of their beers that i taste awhile, fine with their pizza, which is more the draw here than their beer is for me at this point, things have been less than great on the beer side lately, and while its cool that this is new and salmon safe, its not inspiring really in the glass, good but not special or unique. hoping things make a comeback here, last couple visits have left a bit to be desired...

16oz can from Brewers Haven. Hazy golden pour, adequate white foamy head, streaky lacing. Aroma is musty, ripe fruit, melon, tropical notes. Taste is fruity, mildly bitter, notes of vanilla.
