the latest in their hazy series and the best of the beers i had when we were in recently, but still not outstanding, brightly dry hopped which is cool, a little softer feeling than some of the others have been, some over hopped bite to it, but a nice profile overall including notes of meyer lemon, lemongrass, almost ripe melon, and coconut, fresh too. the color is pale yellow, starchy hazy but not super heavy looking, a puffy pure white head rises to over an inch high before settling back, no visible sediment, backlit brightness, not too dense. the nose is fruity and fresh, subtly vegetal with an almost salad greens thing going on, but there is neat white coconut and lemon hard candy in it, some grassiness, modest bitterness, and maybe a hint of juicy orange, nicely composed. wheaty grain foundation, also fresh to me, very pale, earthy and dry without it interfering with the hops in any way, in fact it actually seems to enhance and extend the hops, good balance to this in a new school sense. the hops have more uniquely tropical character as this moves along, kiwi fruit, green pear, crisp early autumn apple, and honeydew, some high alpha character as it warms, a touch green on the tongue, some lingering oils. flavorful, slightly twangy, some body, some bite, a fine grain foundation and well hopped overall, the best of the beers we had on our recent visit, which was largely unspectacular, except for the pizza, which is always awesome in here...
