decent new ipa from these guys, a little sort of estery to me, sweet in the middle, light in body, oily to some extent, good not great, a touch catty like mosaic can sometimes be, fruity though, lime candy and tangerine and maybe coconut, good to see some innovation from lost grove, always the same old stuff lately, so this was a breath of fresh air, even if it doesnt totally wow me or anything and lacks a bit of refinement and obvious quality. blonde and easy on the grain, not quite clear and with a shorter than it could be white head from the tap at the brewery, which i always enjoy when i visit. the nose is a little diesel-like, along with green fruits and a lemony brightness, to me sort of soapy, something in the ferment maybe, lightly thiol forward but not too intense there, weedy and fresh, a touch of cereal character from the malt. sweet up front, even candied at first in the flavor, then a little almost phenolic with coriander seed and lime for a flash, before more familiar danky hops on the back end, a little honey and cat pee, a dollop more carbonation would help it feel a little cleaner i think, a tad sharp to me despite the name, but it does present as modern, well hopped, and generally agreeable without being annoyingly samey, which is the order of the day for ipa locally it seems. a summery complexion to it, drinkable enough, thankful for a couple of new beer options on this visit...
