another robot beer, another decent offering, this one a tad green and vegetal to me, none of their beers seemed super dialed this visit, but i like the hop profile on this and the burn isnt severe. it also feels just a touch heavy for high summer, lots of starch and body to this, but i suppose a sturdy hazy is always in season these days. orange tinted and pretty dense looking, short white head from the tap, somewhat muted but not quite to dull. the nose is the best part, lemon candy, nearly ripe peach, white currant, juicy mango, nice mix of hops it seems, and there really isnt much sign of the greenness that it finishes with in the flavor, which i guess is as much a mouthfeel thing as a flavor demerit, the character of the hops from the smell is there in the taste for sure, dried apricot, white florals, a little hash oil thing, pretty good, and definitely fresh, maybe overly new when i had it. the grain doesnt add a ton to me, other than body of course, the taste is minimal for how much structure there is, and it seems like it could be scaled back for a more repeatable pint. that said, i like the softness and it does balance out some of the finishing hop harshness, which doesnt really bring bitterness per se, but there is some of that too in this. a little sweet, a little oily, fine carbonation, very long on the aftertaste. this is decent to solid, could use just a little lightening and cleaning up, but the hops are the draw as they should be in this style. not an all time highlight in this robot series by any means, but it will scratch the hazy itch if you are hanging out here.
