Technically, this is a vegetable DIPA. It's been brewed in collaboration with Barncat Artisan Ales, for Badlands' second anniversary. What scared me about trying this one, was the fact that the crew added beet juice and I can't stand beets.
So how did it work out? First of all heat impacts the colour of beet, so you can't tell by looking as to what's inside. Second, you can't tell by the nose either. And finally, and most importantly, you can't tell by the taste.
This is a great beer. The hop and citrus combo, along with these darn beets make for a fantastic mix, even though I can't put my finger on anything within. One of their best.
