It's my first taste of Dora. But I digress.
Dora #13, is different from the other IPAs Badlands Brewing released, but this does not mean it isn't as good. It is.
This one has a muted, almost almond nose. The head is the usual, gentle lacing throughout. And yes, the nose hinted something different and there it is: this one if not very citrusy, it's more woody, earthy, with the hop being merely notes, but the bitterness still at the forefront.
This is of course funny, as the brewer tried to mess with the brewing process precisely to make it more citrusy. And they think they have achieved this. I must completely disagree and this is in no way a criticism, because this is a good beer. It's just that citrus is the last thing in my mind when I drink it.
Also, if the notes in their IPAs usually elevate in the aftertaste, this one goes the opposite direction, dropping down noticeably. Again, all of this is good, it's just that this tastes completely different from their usual citrusy goodness.
