Nelly is our singular expression of Nelson Sauvin. One of our favorite, but always elusive (and expensive!) hops from New Zealand. This version of Nelly was dry hopped exclusively with Nelson from Clayton Hops.
We also figured that this was the perfect time to name a beer after our beloved doggo, Nelly. If you've been to our bottle shed, there's a good chance you've seen her around (she's the black/white border collie/aussie shepherd). She's a high energy nutzo farm dog, and we love her dearly.
We taste notes of gooseberry, melon, tropical fruit and white wine.

Canned August 10, 2022. Served cold into a tulip. Review from notes.
Appearance - Hazy, golden brew, two fingers of head with great retention and sticky lacing.
Smell - Grapes, touch of citrus, nice blend.
Taste - Super cohesive, nectarine, orange, grape, maybe a little mango.
Mouthfeel - Dry throughout, medium bodied, medium-0light carbonation.
Overall - Hard to describe but in my mind the best IPA from Badlands without a shadow of a doubt. Cohesive, flavorful aromatic it all just pulls together in an extremely satisfying way.

just what the world needs: more beer named after dogs and more beer from Badlands. woah Nelly! She pours pineapple gold opaque with jaw dropping collar. Nose is forward sawdust wine with light fruit. This is a complex body here with woody, grainy elements with bitter but not overwhelming finish. Fruit is not dominant here but there nonetheless. Overall this one is quote different for Badlands but really interesting.

Wow, unique this is.
Badlands rocks with all their IPAs but this is interesting, to say the least. No doubt it's due to the expensive Nelson Sauvin hops. The nose has hints of gooseberry.
The taste however leaves you confused, pleased and just generally happy. Not only is it dry (throughout, not just on the finish), but you are also introduced to notes of white wine, which I was told about but not believed. Yet it's there. But frankly, this tastes better than any white wine. A must pick up if still available.
