Picture yourself in a grassy meadow where the hills roll as far as the eye can see. It’s late spring and you’re sitting at height with the valley below. The sun shines with a familiar but pleasing warmth. The wind gusts, gentle and fresh. The trees blow in white noise like rustles that rise and fall. The birds chirp, but their songs are rhythmic and in perfect harmony. It is a natural symphony. Can you hear it? That is Soft Sound.
Soft sound is a big fluffy double IPA where we employ maximum hop saturation with various all Mosaic hop products (T-90, incognito, cryo) at a rate of 10lbs/bbl.
We love Mosaic here at Badlands, and Soft Sound is our canvas to showcase it solo and at its peak saturation. So soft, so sound, so Mosaic.

473ml can served cold into a pint glass. Durand purchase. Canned December 7, 2022.
Appearance - Super hazy and chalky looking in that nearly milkshake white/yellow color that virtually all the Badlands IPA's seem to have. Two plus fingers of fluffy and light white head and lots of sticky lacing left behind.
Smell - Big tropical aromas that are sweet with passionfruit, mango and a touch of pineapple featuring most prominently.
Taste - More tropical goodness, mango and passionfruit again leading the way with some softer peach flavors and hints of pineapple. Nice and noticeable wheat backbone.
Mouthfeel - Carbonation is noticeably low, making this quite crushable with just a bit of heat in the back of the throat.
Overall - Another excellent DIPA from Badlands, not much else to say other than I will continue to buy their stuff and keep looking for the perfect IPA.

This DIPA has a very dank, downright obtrusive nose and the dankness follows in the taste, along with sticky honey.
Has a solid orange colour and a light, retaining head. The aftertaste is boozy and mouth burning.
Overall it isn't bad, as almost nothing from Badlands is, but this is not one of their better offerings.
