Named after... well... the pipes freezing. Since we opened there has been at least one instance every winter where a pipe to or from one of our buildings freezes.

This year it actually happened several times with the water line to the food truck. Whoops!

Hopped with Mosaic, Cashmere, and El Dorado we taste a mix of citrus, apricot, sweet berries and grapefruit.

Can: Poured a hazy/cloudy yellow color ale with a large white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of citrusy hoppy notes with some juicy floral hops undertones and some grapefruit hops notes and with a semi-sweet finale. Taste is also a good mix of citrusy hoppy notes with some juicy floral hops undertones notes, some grapefruit hops notes and a semi-sweet finale. Body is full for style with good carbonation. Enjoyable NEIPA with nice grapefruit focus floral hops notes with creamy notes.

Pours as the usual Badlands IPAs do - yellow, with an appetizing head. The nose isn't strong, but it's citrus, a bit of pine, with earthy tones.
It has a soft feel. It is also quite tasty, with a hint of smokiness and papaya added to the aforementioned notes found in the nose. Dry, gently bitter finish.
A very good brew.

Finally got around to a pipes. Better than expected, noting this year's batch made on plan, not under pressure. Tasted a bit like an eisbock really but that could be psychological, the taste of lemon and other hops a welcome change on the hoppy beer circuit.

473 ml can served cold into a tulip. Durand purchase.

Appearance - Super hazy yellowy golden colour with orange highlights. Three fingers of rocky white head rest on top and stay awhile.

Smell - Some citrus as well as apricot and mixed berries in support over a fine wheat malt base.

Taste - Sweet and juicy with low bitterness. Apricot and stone fruit initially, light citrus and orange coming in afterwards. Wheaty and creamy taste mixed with all the fruit.

Mouthfeel - Very smooth, medium-full in body with a creamy finish. Juicy throughout with enough prickly carbonation to make this very interesting.

Overall - One of the best I've had from Badlands.

Poured from a March 2020 batch into a Bench Brewing tulip. Pours wonderful mustard orange juice with think collar. Rich and thick like most Badlands brews. Nose is orange and grapefruit, richer than the DIPA. Taste is sweet and thick, at 6.5 this one is smooth and creamy. Feel is very nice with smooth finish. This one would be nice in the summer but we’ll enjoy those frozen pipe creations for now!
