Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a large dark brown foamy head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma of dry roasted malt notes with light coffee undertones. Taste is also a mix of roasted malt notes with some coffee undertones and a dry finish. Body is full with good carbonation with no apparent alcohol notes. Enjoyable but falls a bit short with limited level of complexity.

April is the cruelest month....oh winter ye hang on ya bastard as spring tries to come in. A cold, blustery day yet sunny....sure might as well have a stout to finish off the wintery season. Enjoyed a March 2020 brew poured into a Guinness pint glass. Like Guinness she pours thick and black as night. A minimal coffee collar greets thee. The coffee continues into the nose with layers of cocoa and nut. Burnt embers also evoke memories of a snowy night. Initial taste was slight bitter oil with Nuts and Fruit Dairy milk finish. Upon warming however this one evolves into much richer chocolate and molasses, therefore serve this one after sitting out for ten minutes. It grows in complexity mid sip as woody coffee will settle on your palette. This one steps outside Badlands typical IPAs and for a company so laser focussed on them, hey, not a bad stout at all. Of course I haven’t had a shitty bear from this brewery so go ahead delve in, kiss winter good ye and smack it in the eye with this beauty.
