The fifth batch on our new system. No one ever says the fifth times the charm, but that's what we're saying here! Batch 5 is the first brew on the new system where we hit all the metrics we find important in the brewing process. We're pretty stoked to have hit this point. From here we will of course continue to tweak and refine endlessly in pursuit of the best hoppy beer we can make, but for today, just today, we're going to sit back, enjoy, and be content with this fruit monster as our new standard. Dry hopped with Citra, Strata and Simcoe, we taste notes of candied citrus, orange flesh, mango and peach jolly ranchers (no joke).

This is my first try of the Badlands gang's new brewing system. I wanted to give them time to break things in.
The pour certainly looks like their good and trusted hazy dark yellow, with a small head retention. The nose is also the slight apricot seed I am used to.
I have been drinking Badlands beer and advertising their merits for two and a half years now, so when I say that this beer is not quite up to their standards, I mean it with the deepest respect.
I never had a watery IPA from them until now. The hops are there but the brew lacks depth or a citrusy punch. Nice beer of course, but maybe it's early days still with the new system, or the bottles were better than the cans.
Naturally, this doesn't change my opinion: Badlands is still my favourite IPA brewery.

Pours with the nice fully clouded yellow-straw colour with a full creamy head. Some white flecks floating around; this one canned just 7 days ago. Sheets of lacing cling during drinking. Delicious fruity hop aromas upon cracking the can. Taste follows with a creamy/fruity/vanilla/candy hop burst which to me also has a hint of spice. Less hop burn and residue than Batch 3 or 4. It's a good one!
