My wife and I had our first kid in 2020. His name is Liam.
To mark the occasion, we named the next unnamed beer in the schedule after him. This ones for you buddy!
Hopped with some of our favorite hops du jour, this beer continues to be a great freeze frame of where our IPA game was at in 2020. We’ve kept the recipe exactly the same and only adjusted our processes to where they are at today.
Hopped with Nelson Sauvin, Sabro, and Motueka, we taste notes of tropical fruit, lime, coconut, gooseberry and unconditional love.

Congratulations Troy and Grace on your little one! Liam is a lucky boy.
As for his namesake beer, it pours the usual dark yellow, with gentle head retention. The head is citrus and pine, but the taste has elements of dill as well. A well put together offspring.

Brewery Description: My wife and I just had our first kid. His name is Liam. And Mike is now a funkle! (Translation: a fun uncle) To mark the occasion, we named the next unnamed beer in the schedule after him. This ones for you buddy. Welcome to the world!

This beer looks great; fully hazy NEIPA. Has that same similar Badlands taste, but less citrus / tropical & a slight white wine tinge. This is the influence of the Nelson Sauvin which always identifies itself to me more than other hops. Not that there's too much in this one - it's just subtle enough. But something about my palate notices it & It's not my favourite taste. To me it also masks other hop varieties from bringing out their full flavour. Again, likely just my palate. It's still a very tasty NEIPA. (2021)
Update: The 2022 version of Liam was phenomenal. They've updated their equipment & refined their processes & put out 2 absolutely delicious hazy IPAs each week (occasionally throwing in some pale ales, DIPAs, etc). Liam 2022 took the sweetness of the Nelson Sauvin & integrated it into the hop profile to deliver a complex deliciousness which did not enter into the realm of the white wine flavours at all. Mouthfeel smooth & creamy - perfect - & a full blend of tropical, citrus & stonefruit flavours. Probably the best beer I've ever had with Nelson Sauvin & one of the best IPAs I've ever tasted. Then again, these folks produce at least close to that virtually every week.
