Our Citra bomb returns! Hopped at a rate of 12lbs/bbl with Citra in three different formats (incognito, cryo, T-90) and 5 different lots, this beer is deeply saturated in Citra, Citra and more Citra.
Citra is arguably the best hop in the game (in addition to one of our own favorite hops) and we are always stoked to make this beer. Every time we release Tree Crawler it is a firm reminder to us of why Citra is an unassailable mainstay in hoppy beer, because the hop is simply delicious. This is our most amplified and expressive display of Citra, we hope you love it!
Tree Crawler is an all Citra double IPA. Built on a bed of oats and english yeast esters, Tree Crawler is our expression of Citra hops when pushed to its fullest. We built a luscious, neutral malt body that supports the heavy hop dosing rate, while also allowing the aromatics to shine. What we’re left with is a deceptively drinkable citric treat.
Tree Crawler leads with prominent orange citrus notes followed closely by candied mango and melon with residual grapefruit and pine. It drinks perceptively sweet, but in actuality finishes on the drier side with a gentle, but satisfying bitterness.

Review from notes. Durand purchase. Served cold into a tulip.
Appearance - Super hazy yellowy/honey brown color. Two fingers of big foamy white head with very good retention.
Smell - Lots of citrus with a slightly soft underbelly of peach. Great intensity.
Taste - Matches the nose, sweet and juicy with just enough bitterness. Balanced. Orange and passionfruit lead the way, but elements of other fruits muddled together.
Mouthfeel - Soft and velvety, pretty juicy with a slight drying sensation at the end. Low carbonation and dangerously drinkable.
Overall - Excellent DIPA that is intense and easy to drink.

Can: Poured a hazy/cloudy yellow color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of juicy hops notes with some tropical notes and loads of hops undertones. Taste is also dominated by citrusy hops notes with some juicy hops notes and tropical notes with some hops undertones and light residual sugar notes . Body is full with good carbonation. Solid juicy IPA.

Lets climb this tree shall we? Pours honey mustard thick from a march 2022 brew. Grass and oat forward nose with citrus finish. Well rounded mouth and feel. Less citrusy than their usual but a good beer nonetheless.

It's refreshing to not add a beer from Badlands here, as someone else already has done this. Twice, as a matter of fact.
One called this beer Imperial, while the other New England, but I feel that this is neither. Alas, I piggybacked on the latter.
It's unusual to see anything higher than a 6.5% from the lads and lassie, unless it's their monthly variation.
Probably one of their better labels as well.
Pours light and hazy, as most of their brew and the lacing looks the usual as well. The nose has heavy earthy tones.
The flavour here takes me back to when I first tried Badlands three years ago. Earthy, hoppy and citrusy. A bit too tart.
Very nicely done.

Their description is pretty spot on. Orange & candied I taste, plus a full tropical flavour overall. I don't really get any pine, but I could be talked into perceiving the 'sharpness' at the end of each sip as a piney influence. The carbonation seems a little high & to me its better after giving it a few swirls to dull that down a bit. In the end its pretty darn delicious.
