Pours a hazy orange with generous, frothy white head. Definitely citrus and tropical fruit notes on the smell. Traces of burnt sugar or cotton candy. Pronounced vanilla with underlying lactose. Not overly sweet. The citrus comes through nicely. A nice change of pace here. Digging it.

I'm usually not a fan of milkshake IPAs, so much so that I briefly thought about pretending to be lactose intolerant so Badlands would replace this with one of their normal IPAs in my weekly subscription, but this really works. A very nicely designed beer, it's not at all the liquid creamsicle I'd feared. The hops are complex and multilayered, and the sweetness isn't at all cloying. Still, this isn't a beer I'd seek out. Four were more than enough.
