The monthly DIPA series is our neutral, hop ready canvas to play around with all thing's DIPA. The goal for the series is not only to bring you at least one DIPA per month, but also to allow us to push our base DIPA recipe in any number of directions with the goal of ultimately tweaking, refining and improving every DIPA in our lineup.

August was built on our house DIPA malt base and then dry hopped with an unusually delightful blend of Motueka, Sabro and HBC 638. Not a combo of hops you’ll see used together every day but one that brings intense tropical fruit to the fore with layers of lime and citrus intertwined with coconut and tangerine.

473 ml can served cold into a tulip. Canned July 27, 2022. Brewed with Motueka, Sabro and HBC 638 hops.

Appearance - Super duper hazy in a faded yellowy color. Three fingers of brilliant eggshell white head rest on top with great retention. Lots of spidery lacing left behind too.

Smell - Weedy and dank initially with a slight hint of coconut. Very fresh smelling, quite green.

Taste - Weedy yet then juicy and tropical with some guava maybe that rounds into a coconut flavor that gives f the taste of a creamy fruit. A touch of bitter weediness in the aftertaste,

Mouthfeel - Very little carbonation, extremely smooth and rich and creamy almost like a milkshake IPA, but without the depth and filling qualities of a milkshake. Hard to describe and astringent to close. Body is medium but feels very light and velvety.

Overall - Nice and deliciously fresh IPA, the feel is like floating super light, yet flavorful and packing a serious punch. Not usually a big fan of Sabro forward beers, but works here with nice tendrils of weedy qualities.
