A beer designed by letting our brains default to what we think is delicious. Often we inadvertently fight the urge to put hops that are obviously delicious together. Who knows why, it’s just a thing we accidentally do because delicious things can sometimes feel “obvious.” Does that make them any less delicious though? Heck no!

In this case we’ve accidentally been fighting ourselves to put Citra (the king of all hops) and Riwaka from our friends at Freestyle hop farms, a hop we find throws Citra vibes with a distinct New Zealand terroir to it, together. It's a blend of hops we took criminally long to assemble. We hope you accept this beer as our apology, it’s tasting wonderful. Think plush tropical berries lathered in citrus and mango.

Pours pale, almost milky yellow with a huge head. The nose is somewhat muted with citrus and earth tones.
The taste is somewhat watery citrus and lactose. Quite tart feel.
Not their best.

Leading an outing of The Responsible Beer Drinking Club at The Cookie Bar on Drouillard Rd. in nearby Windsor; on tap and chilled, 4oz. in a flight of six beers. My 16th beer from the Cheltenham, Ontario brewery, and 6th for 2026...

2026 rendition. Purchase from Durand and served cold into a pint glass. Canned February 25, 2026.

Appearance - Very hazy yellowy white brew with a finger of white head. Good retention time and not much lacing.

Smell - Very tropical with some citrus and passionfruit. Orange is also present.

Taste - Sweet juicy and tropical with orange and passionfruit, distinct wheat malt background.

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied, juicy as heck, extremely crushable with low carbonation. Just a little prickle on the tongue at the end too.

Overall - Very very good, delicious and juicy, crushable IPA. Would love to have easier access to most of Badlands catalogue, but that's probably a good thing given the super high level of drinkability for beers like these.

Can: Poured a hazy/cloudy yellow color ale with a large white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of citrusy hoppy notes with some juicy floral hops undertones and some tropical hops notes and with a semi-dry finale. Taste is also a good mix of citrusy hoppy notes with some juicy floral hops undertones notes, some tropical hops notes and a semi-dry finale. Body is full for style with good carbonation. Enjoyable NEIPA with nice tropical focus floral hops notes with creamy notes.

Lots of good hop flavour, on draft at the source. Balanced, with mouthfeel, so nice.
