The monthly DIPA series is our neutral, hop ready canvas to play around with all things DIPA. Usually we aren’t 100% sure what we will do for the month, but in October, we are terrifyingly certain of what we wanted to do!
We got together with our primary American hop supplier, Yakima Chief Hops, and built a massive Double IPA showcasing the best of the best of their newest hop products. The goal is simple: to showcase a deeply hop saturated beer using entirely new varieties/hop products in their portfolio.
Hopped with Mosaic 702 in the whirlpool (a new flowable hop product) and then dry hopped with Superdelic, Nectaron, HBC586 and Nelson Cryo. The final hop load for this beer is around 12lbs/bbl (47g/L) and will leave you haunting for more of that sweet sweet lupulin. We hope you enjoy this cutting edge olfactory experience!

473ml can served cold into a tulip. Duran purchase. Canned October 19, 2023.
Appearance - Very hazy and turbid yellowy white brew with honey brown highlights. Two fingers of tight white head are poured. Very impressive staying power.
Smell - Citrus with some orange, pineapple and a hint of grape. Fairly soft and sweet. Peach may be blended in for good measure.
Taste - Quite sweet with some booziness. Peach, and orange with some grape are prominent. Transitions to overripe fruit momentarily. Semi-bitter on the back half. Would score even higher
Mouthfeel - Medium full bodied, a bit too sticky and with low carbonation but some heat from the booziness.
Overall - Yet another excellent DIPA from Badlands with a great flavor combo. The only really change I wish could be made would be to turn the booziness down just a bit, but otherwise one of their better offerings.
