I have tried last year's version at 8.2%. I liked it, save perhaps for the dryness. This year, Badlands upped the ante to a TIPA at 10%. Let's see what happened.
Pours pale and the nose smacks from a bit of distance already. Strong hop and citrus blend. Upon closer inspection, the nose also contains that apricot seed that was present in the body of the original Evolve.
The taste seems slightly muted on the front notes, while the back end is very hoppy. Slight burn at the end and it's still dry and, believe it or not at this strength, kind of watery. A good enough beer leaves wanting.
