Dora is our exploratory series of beers where we mess around with anything/everything from ingredients to process.

For this version of Dora we amped up our malt base with a higher percentage of wheat that usual, for an extra luscious and soft drinking experience.

Hopped with entirely with our selected Citra, we taste a medley of citrus, mango and tropical fruit.

473ml can served cold into a beer mug. Durand purchase. Canned January 21, 2024.

Appearance - Hazy and turbid golden color. Two fingers of sparkling white head with good retention. Nice swaths of curtain style lacing remain afterwards.

Smell - Quite fruity with some citrus and nectarines leading the way. Fairly sweet. Wheat malt backbone.

Taste - Peaches with a hint of melon and passionfruit. A touch of orange pith near the end. Low bitterness but not overwhelmingly sweet either. Very good balance initially with some booziness creeping in after a few sips.

Mouthfeel - Full bodied with some creaminess and fairly expressive carbonation. Reasonably juicy.

Overall - Well worth trying and one of the better renditions of Dora that I've had the pleasure to sample.

Only had 2 of the last 10 Doras, and they weren't great. The early Dora tries seemed more successful. But, here I go again.
Milky yellow pour and a thick head. That is the visual. The nose is fairly muted, but there is pleasant citrus wafting out still.
The taste is a bit different than the usual Badlands IPAs and more bitter as well. I can't pinpoint what I'm tasting (maybe stone fruit and papaya) but it's kind of messy and again, falls short of their standard. Not bad, a drinkable fair, just not in the top tier.
