From the Bine is our wet-hopped IPA.

Using our own estate-grown Centennial hops, we dose the mash/whirlpool with as much fresh picked hops as we can get in there, and then we proceed as normal with our regular IPA process.

This is a unique beer in the sense that we typically only use dried and pelletized hops, whereas in this beer these are wet (i.e. fresh from the bine) and completely unprocessed. You get a totally different aromatic contribution from them and it leads to a decidedly different beer that we can only make once per year around hop harvest time!

Wet-hopped with estate grown Centennial then dry-hopped with Nelson Sauvin, Riwaka and Motueka.

Canned September 10/25 - from brewery - initially had on tap on release day September 12, bought a can to go. Noted as 2025 edition.
Pours a milky, hazy pale yellow with a finger of creamy white head.
Nose of citrus - orange, grapefruit; white wine; green and leafy and as warmed certainly some notes of freshly rubbed hops.
Sweet and a bit juicy on the palate - sweetened pink grapefruit; notes of green grapes, white wine with a green and weedy bitterness - a touch herbal.
Smooth and creamy medium full, vibrant and tingly mouthfeel with a dry finish.
Excellent - I will say I think I liked 12 days old in the can a bit more than the super fresh on tap pour.

Can: Poured a hazy/cloudy pale yellow color ale with a medium white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of citrusy hoppy notes with some juicy floral hops undertones and some green hoppy notes. Taste is also a good mix of citrusy hoppy notes with some juicy floral hops undertones notes, some nice green hoppy notes and a semi-dry finale. Body is full for style with creamy texture and with good carbonation. Solid NEIPA with nice green hoppy hops undertones but not much bitterness.
