For September we decided we wanted to build a beer with a very pale malt base and then hop it with the always killer hop combo of Citra, mosaic, Nelson. These three are really coming together to make something incredible for us lately!

Single can from the brewery on Ontario farmland. Gather a new release DIPA on monthly basis.
Pours a densely hazy, milky golden yellow with a finger of creamy white head.
Aroma is citrus forward - grapefruit, some lemon - along with a sweaty, slightly oniony dankness.
Grapefruit, grapefruit pith on the palate, a touch of tropical semi-sweetness - pineapple (a little underripe) - and again the sweaty dank note with some herbal bitterness.
Smooth medium full mouthfeel - decently carbonated - juice like sweetness on the finish.
This is a very good DIPA, though honestly not remarkable and a little bit of a reminder as to how frequently the hazy IPA often is a very familiar juice bomb, often indistinguishable from its cohorts.

Last year's version of Badlands' September DIPA was one of my favourite brews. Let's see this year's crop.
Pours hazy light orange with a small but firm head. Looks great.
The nose is straight forward citrus and hops, Badlands style. The body contains the same, but there is quite a bit of tartness, which is disappointment. It even makes your teeth sensitive. No doubt more New Zealand hops are in here, ruining another party. Drinkable, of course, but not great.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
