Purchased in a 16oz 4 pk of cans at the brewery - canned within the past 7 days
This porter still needs work. The look and smell are right on for a porter I would enjoy - somewhere between chocolate brown and deep brown in color, pours with a 1/2" head that dissipates quickly, malty aroma - all quite fine. The first sip started fine - a bit of chocolaty malt up front, expecting more pleasantries - but suddenly it turns more bitter than a good porter should be. I consider this a work in progress for a Portsmouth brewery I really want to support.

Sample at the source.
Dark brown in color with a thin tan head that dissipates quickly. Light butterscotch on the nose with some roasty chocolate and earth to counter. Somewhat bitter butterscotch in the flavor distracts from the rest of the beer.
