Middle of the road, THIN but incredibly drinkable (earning the "sessionable" label note). It looks like it looks. Plain ol' stout nose, no spice and nothing enticing nor off-putting. Zero burn or astringency despite the 9.9%. Strong coffee, but not overwhelming, as the only tone. Huge head which isn't actually too bad on its own. Like a Guinness which precipitates up instead of down. Definitely let it roll around in your mouth a bit--as it warms, it gets creamier, almost thicker. I want to drop a half-scoop of vanilla ice cream in it--it begs to be a little thicker. May try again. (12 oz can from a six-pack.) "Simple" describes it best, but it gets better as you spend time with it. Best drunk leisurely. I get what they're getting at here.

Pours black with a finger of dense foam. Head retention is great. Aroma is roasty, toasty malts with caramel, vanilla bean, and chocolate. Dense and semi-sweet. Flavor profile is caramel, molasses, toffee, vanilla bean, chocolate, and cocoa nibs with roasty, toasty, nutty malts. It's big and expressive. Mouth feel is velvety and decadent with a medium-thick consistency. Overall, very flavorful and decadent.
