Pours black with a finger of khaki foam. Aroma is roasty and toasty malts first. They're heavy, forming a firm foundation for caramel, toffee, rye, and barrel. Slightly raw grain quality at the finish, which feels off. Flavor profile is minor vanilla. Kind of astringent. Toffee, caramel, chocolate, and roasty & toasty malts. Barrel & rye come through towards the end, but are minor. Mouth feel is thick with a fuzzy, slightly gritty texture. Texture is something like cat litter sprinkled into shag carpet. Overall, it's alright. A little too astringent at times to be smooth.
