its a darn shame this is essentially dead flat, because the flavor is real good on a number of levels, but i just cant have this type of beer be still, i can barely tolerate it in lambic, and this is a far cry from that, so it needs some life, kills the experience right from the start. that said, there is still lots to like here, the souring is fairly clean, its lactic and puckery and has some lemony flavor in with the acid, and the beer is fermented pretty dry after that, so they have the science pretty well down here. the other thing i like is the fruit, it smells a little candied but tastes like the real thing, its not so real its fuzzy, but its obvious and natural and very good in here, juicy and ripe and compelling. just a bit of wheat malt character too keeps it beery and smooth. i think there is a ton of potential here, they really got the hard parts right, and seemingly the easy part so wrong. i need some bubbles here, straight up. i also think its weird to serve a sour of any kind in a pint glass, that turns me off too. i hope this is amazing next batch, because its close...
