Snow Hop Brewery

i came in here all guns blazing and whatnot, all stoked up, overly keen for some ale in this town, and i found a somewhat secluded place that seemed new, an undiscovered treasure, except for the few blessed souls at the bar who were in the know, but i saw posters for ambitious beers like grodziskie, i saw artwork of the northern lights or something like it, and i saw a lady behind the bar involved in the operation in a hands on role that really had love for her work. however, i learned that this place is closing, as new and fresh and upstart as it seems, its winding down already. i didnt love the beer, but i reckon the place itself was ahead of its time. open and new and airy and with some shiny tanks and the likes, it has outside potential, lots of taps, and a mellow vibe, but there is nobody here, in fact, there is nothing here at all, and while it looks like this side of town may be about to be developed, this place was maybe premature. in a few years, i bet it would have cranked. the lady owner was funny, somewhat cocky and beery, but present and helpful and nice. the beers i had were a little rough, some old, some raw, some just flawed, the liquid certainly didnt make a positive statement, but it wasnt brutal either, and again, i think in another world they would have made it. a fun hang, legendary locals in the mix, and a place that is meeting its demise way too soon, but ill remember this fondly, even if the beer is middle of the road. a shame to see them go...

 

 

They're fairly new to the area so their beer list is fairly small, but what they have is really good though.
