Copenhagen 1/6 2020. 44 cl can from Mikkeller Web-shop. Apex' usual design this time with the head of a angry dog in the centre.
Pours opaque, milky yellow with a big white head. A bit bubbly. Settles as thin, almost transparent layer of foam struggling to cover the surface of the beer and clinging to the sides of the glass. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is intense with a strong fruity sweetness with notes of light fermentation and citrus fruit in abundance. Peach, mango and papaya. Light decay. Grape fruit and citrus. Pine.
Medium strong carbonation. Medium thick, soft, smooth, pleasantly tingling texture.
Flavor is intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a slightly stronger citric bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet with a bitter undercurrent. Lingers for while. Semi-dry finish.
The beer is not as feisty and angry as the dog on the can. But it is a pleasant, round and gentle hazy DIPA.
