Copenhagen 23/5 2020. 44 cl can from Mikkeller web-shop. Light blue can with red letters in Apex's usual design with the head of a Baboon.
Pours hazy, milky yellow with a big white head. Stable. Settles as 1,5 cm thick layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is intense and dominated by a strong citric basket of fruit. Grape fruit, lemon and lime. Acerbic and strong. Lighter sweetness peeking in with hints of caramel and peach.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, smooth, soft, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is intense with a light sweetness followed by a strong, citric bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter. Lingers for a while. finish is dry.
Actually pretty light for a DIPA. The alcohol does not dominate making way for a lot of aroma and flavor. Nice Baboon.
