Nelson Sauvin and Idaho 7. Nelson Sauvin and Idaho 7. A hop combo so great we had to write it twice. We brewed this hazy marvel with a base of extra pale ale malt, malted- and unmalted oats and a dash of raw wheat, then we dry hopped it to perfection with the greatest hop combo there is. Prepare yourself for a swirling tropical vortex of ripe pineapple, sweet mango, dank juicy citrus fruits ending with a balanced piney bite. You deserve this. Cheers!

Pours a hazy orange coloration with a large, fluffy head. Smells of light biscuity malt and tropical, citrus and berry hops, with notes of pineapple, grapefruit and gooseberry, as well as hints of pine and black tea. Taste is a great balance of light biscuity malt and fruity, juicy, slightly earthy, dank and resinous hops, with tropical, citrus and berry notes of pineapple, papaya, grapefruit and gooseberry as well as hints of black tea and pine. Finishes with a medium bitterness and some pineapple, grapefruit and pine lingering in the aftertaste. Soft mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
This makes for a really tasty New England IPA and I love the combination of Nelson Sauvin and Idaho 7 hops here, two of my favorite varieties. While the Nelson stays a bit more in the background, those typical gooseberry notes still come through, while Idaho 7 brings those great tropical, earthy and resinous notes to the table here, while there's a certain, subtle dankness to this as well. I really like the contrast of juicy, fruity and earthy, resinous hops here, while finishing with a great bitterness for the style.
