Copenhagen 21/5 2023. 44 cl can from Best of Beers web-shop. Light green can in Apex' usual design with a wolf-head for poster animal.
Pours opaque hazy, slightly dirty, golden yellow with a big white head. Settles as thick, uneven, fluffy layer of foam obscuring the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is intense with a sweet, fruity and boozy odor mingling with sharp citrus fruit. Fermented mango, peach and passion fruit. Grapefruit.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, greasy, soft, almost flat texture.
Flavor is intense with a strong sweetness followed by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a boozy undertone. Lingers for a while. Finish is dry and brimming with alcohol.
Powerful, boozy DIPA fully earning the name "Mephisto".
