THANK HEAVEN is a nod to one of our first imperial stouts, MASH NAP! In this iteration, we took out the coffee and switched it for cacao nibs from our friends at Vidiri out of Raleigh NC. This yields a nice, thick, smooth, tasty stout with plenty of flavor and alcohol to hold you over! Just like a nice German chocolate slice of cake, you will be going back for seconds :)

A: Pours an opaque thick viscous jet black in color with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and faint dark chestnut brown + dark cola brown + garnet red colored highlights. The beer has a three finger tall dense sudsy pillowy foamy dark tan head that slowly reduces to a handful of small patches of medium thick film surrounded by a large patch of very slightly mottled thin film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Slightly stronger than moderate aromas of roasted + chocolate + caramel malts with a light amount of caramel sweetness and a moderate amount of lactose sweetness. Moderate aromas of toasted coconut + cacao nibs.
T: Upfront there are slightly stronger than moderate flavors of roasted + chocolate + caramel malts with a light amount of caramel sweetness and a moderate amount of lactose sweetness. That is followed by moderate flavors of toasted coconut + cacao nibs. There were light to moderate amounts of roasty bitterness which are slowly balanced out by the lactose sweetness leaving lingering chocolate + coconut flavors.
M: Slightly heavier than medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Smooth.
O: Easy to drink with extremely well hidden alcohol and a smooth mouthfeel - it is hard to believe this beer is 10% ABV. Really enjoyable flavors and aromas of chocolate + cacao nibs + toasted coconut. Definitely worth grabbing and a nice replacement for dessert tonight - albeit without being cloyingly sweet.

A: The beer is jet black in color. It poured with a quarter finger high tan head that quickly died down, leaving some specks of lacing on the sides of the glass, a narrow collar around the edge, and some wisps of bubbles on the surface.
S: Light to moderate aromas of coconut are present in the nose along with hints of cocoa nibs.
T: The taste follows the smell, except that the flavors of cocoa nibs are stronger and more on par with those of the coconut.
M: It feels medium-bodied and very smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is incredibly drinkable for a stout that is 10% abv.
