A: Pours an opaque yet still clear thick viscous jet black in color with light to moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and faint very dark chestnut brown + dark garnet red colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall dense creamy foamy very dark tan head that slowly reduces to a large patch of thin film covering the entire surface of the beer and a thin to medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate to strong aromas of dark + roasted + caramel + chocolate malts with moderate amounts of caramel + lactose sweetness. Moderate aromas of freshly brewed coffee + rich milk chocolate (almost fudge-like). Hints of earthy hops.
T: Upfront there are moderate to strong flavors of dark + roasted + caramel + chocolate malts with moderate amounts of caramel + lactose sweetness. That is followed by slightly stronger than moderate flavors of freshly brewed coffee + rich milk chocolate (almost fudge-like). Finally there is a very light flavor of earthy hops. There is a light to moderate amount of roasty bitterness that persists but is overshadowed by the lactose sweetness and there is moderate lingering mocha flavors.
M: Full bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Smooth almost creamy.
O: Easy to drink with extremely well hidden alcohol and a pleasantly smooth/creamy mouthfeel. Enjoyable with very good flavors + aromas of rich sweet milk chocolate and coffee in a very well constructed imperial stout.
