A: Pours an opaque yet still clear jet black in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and light to moderate chestnut brown + dark cola brown + amber + garnet red colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall dense foamy tan head that reduces to a handful of small patches of thin film surrounded by a large patch of very thin film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Light amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate to strong aromas of maple + toasted pecans + coffee over the top of moderate aromas of roasted + toasted + caramel malts with moderate amounts of lactose + brown sugar + caramel sweetness.

T: Upfront there are slightly stronger than moderate flavors of roasted + toasted + caramel malts with moderate amounts of lactose + brown sugar + caramel sweetness. That is followed by moderate to strong flavors of maple + toasted pecans + coffee. There is a light to moderate amount of roasty bitterness which fades away fairly quickly leaving moderate lingering maple + coffee flavors.

M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Lightly creamy smooth.

O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and a pleasantly creamy smooth mouthfeel. Very enjoyable with great flavors/aromas of coffee, maple, and pecan on a very solid base old school milk stout. I like that there is sweetness but it is not overwhelming or cloying. This would be perfect for brunch.
