REHYDRATION is the continuation of our milk stout exploration! This is the same delicious base as our previous milk stouts, but with boat loads of toasted coconut! I love coconut stouts and can't wait to drink a few of these by the fire!

A: Pours an opaque yet still clear jet black in color with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and moderate dark cola brown + dark chestnut brown colored highlights. The beer has a three finger tall dense creamy sudsy foamy dark tan head that reduces to a large patch of thin film covering approximately 85% of the surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Light to moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Slightly stronger than moderate aromas of roasty + caramel + toasted + chocolate malts with moderate amounts of lactose + caramel sweetness. Moderate aromas of toasted coconut (but natural coconut not suntan lotion). Hints of earthy hops.
T: Upfront there are slightly stronger than moderate flavors of roasty + caramel + toasted + chocolate malts with moderate amounts of lactose + caramel sweetness. That is followed by moderate flavors of toasted coconut (very natural coconut flavor not the artificial suntan lotion kind). Finally there are very light flavors of earthy hops. There are light to moderate amounts of roasty bitterness as well as lingering coconut and light chocolate flavors.
M: Medium to full bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Smooth and creamy.
O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and a very pleasantly creamy smooth mouthfeel. Really enjoyable natural coconut flavors in a well constructed base milk stout. I could easily have a couple of these - there is some sweetness but not over the top or cloying in the least bit.

Drinking this at my favorite tap room in Greenville NC, Tapped Drafts and Crafts.
Poured from a tap into a pint glass.
Look dark brown almost black with a nice foamy head that dropped quickly to a thin ring and some lacing.
Smells malty sweet, milky, coconut, chocolate.
Taste follows the nose nicely.
Mouth feel is smooth and creamy.
Overall a very nice coconut milk stout.
