A: Pours an opaque yet still clear thick viscous jet black in color with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and faint dark chestnut brown + dark amber + dark cola brown colored highlights. The beer has a half finger tall dense sudsy foamy dark mocha head that slowly reduces to a small patch of very thin film covering approximately 15% of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Minimal amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate to strong aromas of roasted + dark + caramel + chocolate malts with moderate amounts of caramel + dark fruit (cherry) + syrupy sweetness. Just shy of strong aromas of fudge + dark chocolate + cocoa as well as moderate aromas of freshly roasted dark roast coffee. Hints of earthy hops.
T: Upfront there are moderate to strong flavors of roasted + dark + caramel + chocolate malts with moderate amounts of caramel + dark fruit (cherry) + syrupy sweetness. That is followed by moderate to strong flavors of freshly brewed dark roast coffee as well as just shy of strong flavors of fudge + dark chocolate + cocoa. Finally there are hints of earthy hops. Moderate amounts of roasty bitterness which fade away fairly quickly overtaken by the fudge-like chocolate sweetness that lingers.
M: Just shy of full bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Smooth and slick with a light to moderate amount of alcohol warming in the finish.
O: Easy to drink with very well hidden alcohol considering the strength of this beer and a pleasantly full slick mouthfeel. Enjoyable rich flavors + aromas of chocolate, cocoa, fudge, and coffee with a decent amount of complexity. Sweet but not cloying.
