This beer, aged for 24 months in Buffalo Trace Bourbon barrels, is our dark testament to wood and spirit. We blended two of our favorite barrels to achieve a stout that sings with bourbon and oak, but has the sweetness and body to hide any alcohol heat. You'll take a journey from dark fruit and caramel sweetness to robust chocolate ganache while that Kentucky goodness floats over your palate. Finally a rush of vanilla.

Appearance: Pours black as midnight with a thin tan head that fades to a collar and leaves a few speckles behind
Smell: Milk chocolate and caramel supported by the Bourbon and vanilla tones; the hops also have a presence in the aroma
Taste: Milk chocolate and caramel forward with the Bourbon and vanilla developing in the middle; the hops arrive on the back end to balance the sweeter elements
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate carbonation
Overall: Good use of the hops here to keep the sweetness (that I so often find in the style) in check
