Named after the famous wrestling coach and geology teacher from Long Beach NY.
Look: Pours a dark black color with a two finger, beige head of foam that laces the glass well.
Aroma: Slightly sweet notes of toasted oats and milk chocolate. A little bit of brown sugar, sweet tobacco and molasses.
Taste: Silky and rich flavors of toasted hazelnut upfront, followed by strong notes of bittersweet chocolate and a peppery, slightly tobacco like finish.
Feel: Texture is creamy and smooth, with low carbonation. Full bodied and dry but not overpowering - the beer is heady but at the same time - quite crisp because of how well the bittersweet flavors work in tandem with the mouthfeel.
Overall: The brewery is calling this "similar to a foreign export style" and I'd have to agree with them. All in all I really enjoyed this. If you like traditional, no frills style stouts that showcase their rich malt bills you will enjoy this.
