Pours black with a well retained quarter inch dark tan head that left a nice amount of lacing. Smells of roasted malts, coffee and a bit of char. Tastes of dark roasted malts, coffee, cherries, bitter chocolate, cocoa and a bit of char. Light side of full bodied, well carbonated (especially for the style), moderate bitterness, not quite creamy mouth feel.

A: Pours an opaque yet still clear thick viscous jet black in color with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and faint dark cola brown colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall dense foamy dark tan head that slowly reduces to a large patch of medium thick film covering the entire surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate to strong aromas of roasted + dark malts with a moderate amount of dark fruit (cherry + plum) sweetness and light to moderate aromas of earthy hops + charred malts.
T: Upfront there are moderate to strong flavors of roasted + dark malts with a moderate amount of dark fruit (cherry + plum) sweetness. There are light to moderate flavors of charred malts and light flavors of earthy hops. Slightly stronger than moderate amounts of roasty bitterness are present and linger through the finish.
M: Slightly heavier than medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Smooth with a light alcohol warming in the finish.
O: Relatively easy to drink with well hidden alcohol but an intense malt backbone. Enjoyable assuming you like strong malt flavors like roasted, dark, and charred malts with some dark fruit sweetness.

T: The taste has flavors of dark malts with stronger notes of roasted malts. There is a light to moderate amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium- to full-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
